Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Phil Hay relayed the comments of the Whites’ manager, Marcelo Bielsa, reflecting on the club’s recent loss.

According to Hay, Bielsa believed that a draw would have been a fair result in Saturday’s fixture which ended 1-0 to Aston Villa, although, if one of the teams deserved to win, the United boss thought it was Leeds.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

The journalist continued by stating that the 65-year-old felt his side ‘wasted lots of good positions out wide’ and failed to create enough chances in the second half.

However, after Hay relayed the Argentine’s comments on Twitter, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to be in disagreement with their manager’s assessment of the fixture.

So, what exactly did these Leeds United fans have to say in reaction to Phil Hay’s tweet regarding Marcelo Bielsa’s comments?

“Mistake playing Struijk CDM. Surely Llorente better suited to that role in absence of Phillips?”

@AllLoveLeeds

“It was the worst I’ve seen Leeds in a very long time.”

@HaydenLewo

“That performance tonight was shambolic.”

@danieljamesros2

“Not sure I agree with him. I know that’s basically heresy. We didn’t work their keeper anywhere near enough to say we deserved to win.”

@royceylufc

“Needs to stop playing Struijk anywhere but CB. The problem was with midfielders today. (Roberts, Klich and Costa). The squad needs improvements over the summer. We would have won that with Phillips, Rodrigo and Harrison starting. Normally rate Klich but been off it a while now, needs a break?”

@PBKennedy

“Poor game and we were worse than Villa. Have to disagree with the big man tonight. We didn’t show up and gave the ball away too easily. Start Hernandez, at least he is creative. If he gets tired sub him but without Phillips, we struggle.”

@Wol66704777

“Maybe we at home had a better view than Bielsa. We never got close to the standard he’s set so far. Leeds don’t fare well against an agricultural approach – we score a lot because we miss a lot. We were tame against a team hell-bent on not losing. Need more guile in the middle.”

@SSTmk3

“Bielsa’s team selection = his WEAKEST point. Harrison, Hernandez, (and probably Geldhardt) should be starting ahead of Roberts, Klich and Bamford.”

@LagbajaSeason

All in all, it would appear as if these Leeds fans did not tend to agree with Bielsa’s assessment of the Villa clash, with some taking aim at the 65-year-old’s team selection, while others commented on what they believed to be the Whites’ lack of effort in the fixture.
