In the report by Football Insider, former Leeds United striker, Noel Whelan, tipped Hernandez to depart Elland Road this summer after the 35-year-old picked up another injury, with Whelan stating his belief that the Whites are ‘coming to the end of the Pablo era’.
He continued: “He is not the go-to man anymore. When you look at the bench, and the players that come on before him, it tells a big story. I think Pablo will move on in the summer. I definitely think he will go.”
And, after Leeds Insider relayed this report on Facebook, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with some appearing in agreement with Whelan’s prediction, while others called for Hernandez to stay.
Is Hernandez's time up at Leeds?
So, what exactly did these Leeds United fans have to say in reaction to the report regarding Pablo Hernandez’s future at the club?
All in all, it would appear that the opinion of these Leeds fans is rather split as to whether they would be open to the idea of Hernandez leaving the club this summer, with some stating their belief that, while he has been brilliant over his time at the Whites, the midfielder is now past his best, while others simply claimed that they want the 35-year-old to say.
