Many Leeds United fans have flocked to the latest tweet from Phil Hay that recently emerged on social media.

Hay recently tweeted about Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference ahead of Leeds’ Premier League game against Southampton. The journalist stated that Bielsa has confirmed that Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo Moreno remain out of action for the game against the Saints.

Having said that, the Whites don’t have any fresh injury concerns in the side. Diego Llorente is now available but Ian Poveda and Robin Koch are still missing.

Hay’s tweet drew the attention of many Leeds supporters, who flocked to it and gave their opinion.

While Phillips has been a regular part of the Leeds side in the 2020/21 season, he hasn’t played for the team in their last two Premier League games because of a calf injury. He had previously missed three games because of a shoulder injury too (as per Transfermarkt).

In the Premier League, Phillips hasn’t played six times and during that period, Leeds have won only once.

A lot of Leeds fans are pessimistic about their next game because of Phillips’ absence and some of them are already expecting a loss.

Leeds had decided to change their shape against Wolves, opting to play a 4-4-1-1 in the absence of Phillips. Against Arsenal when the Englishman was out, Pascal Struijk had played in defensive midfield and he has picked up a pretty good rating in the game too.

So because of how Struijk had performed against Arsenal, it might be best to play the Dutchman in defensive midfield against Southampton.
