Leeds United fans have been reacting to some rather troubling news coming out of Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference.

The Elland Road outfit have already had an impressive season so far, and are on course to be one of the best promoted sides that the Premier League has ever seen, both in terms of their entertaining style of play and their points total.

However, that task is going to be all that harder when they take on Arsenal this week, as boss Bielsa revealed in his press conference today (via Phil Hay) that Leeds will be without Robert Koch, Pablo Hernandez and Diego Llorente for the clash at the Emirates, whilst England international Kalvin Phillips is ‘a doubt’.

News which served as a huge dent in the confidence of Leeds Utd fans on social media, who were struggling to see how the team would be able to cope without them:

“I’ve said it a million times, we are abysmal without Phillips”

“Ok *punches wall*”
“Playing the worst Arsenal side for 10 years without Phillips, Koch, Rodrigo, Hernandez and Llorente is depressing.”
“Not exactly the perfect set up to break the London hoo doo”
“Need to learn to live without Phillips. We not have a direct replacement in same way for Bamford Harrison Raphina Ayling etc. We just have to get on with it. As I remember Bielsa saw this quality in Phillips that not many of us could see. He can develop others into such”
“Time to send a search party for Llorente and Koch if they’re missing.”
“Game over – postpone the game”
“Crikey if Phillips is missing and the continued absence of Rodrigo , Llorente , Koch , Hernandez it will be some result if we come away with anything. Needs to leave the back 4 unchanged ….. Klich and Dallas in CM suspect Roberts at 10 but would prefer to see Geldhart”
“Doesn’t sound good.”

Is Kalvin Phillips indispensable for Leeds?

The Gunners have been somewhat inconsistent this season, so Leeds will be hoping that Sunday will just be one of Arsenal’s off days to help balance things out.
