Many Celtic fans were not happy with what they saw from Jeremie Frimpong in the first half of their game against Hibernian.

The hosts were missing as many as thirteen players following their much-criticised trip to Dubai, so the team that was eventually selected would have to put on a bit of a show to try and keep their incredibly faint hopes of winning the league title alive.

However, one person who didn’t seem to get that message was Frimpong. The right-back has been pretty useful so far this season, managing to contribute five assists from defence across all competitions this season, but it looks as if his displays didn’t do much to endear him to the Celtic fans that were watching on at home:

“Wee Frimpong needs to cross the ball quicker…Harper made a good run off the nibs defence in a counter attack there expecting the ball whipped in, but JF held onto it as per”

“Its like wee Frimpong loses his bottle when he’s running ti the by-line, seems like he’d rather turn inside than fire in a cross.”
“Why does Frimpong hit the byline then pass backwards……put the cross in where someone SHOULD be then point”
“Frimpong has to sit, conceded that corner on an overload on the right”
“Frimpong take defender on”
“Turnbull and frimpong haven’t been in the game”

Is Frimpong a winger or a defender?

Crosses certainly aren’t his strong point as he only manages 0.5 per game on average, so perhaps it might be something for him to work on in training, regardless of what country he’s in.
