Many Celtic fans have been reacting to a tweet that was recently posted by the club’s official Twitter account which shared an interview with Hoops midfielder Callum McGregor ahead of Saturday’s Old Firm derby clash

In this interview from the pre-match media conference ahead of Saturday’s game, McGregor, who has been a key member of Neil Lennon’s side this term, making the starting XI in 100% of their league games and European games, shed some light on his side’s aims for this meeting with the Premiership leaders

The Scotland international said: “We’ll go and try and win the game, that’s in our nature, it’s in our DNA.”

The Glasgow club shared this particular comment along with the link to this pre-match interview featuring the 27-year-old in full via Twitter and it got plenty of Celtic fans talking.

So, how have these Celtic fans been reacting to McGregor’s comment?

Lots of Hoops supporters reacted negatively to what the £5.4m-rated man had to say. Some Celtic fans indicated that they feel this was a poor choice of words from the central midfielder, while one particular Celtic fan took this opportunity to criticise McGregor’s performance in his side’s 2-0 loss to Rangers at Celtic Park earlier this season.

All in all, it’s clear that some Celtic fans feel McGregor should be more confident about his side’s chances of getting a result from Saturday’s game at Ibrox.
