Celtic have been dealt a frustrating injury blow, with Neil Lennon confirming that defender Christopher Jullien will be out of action for up to four months with a knee problem.

Jullien has been restricted to just 14 appearances in all competitions for Celtic in the 2020/21 season, having previously been nursing a back injury.

But the Frenchman returned to the side against Dundee United, but was forced off after 51 minutes, as his collided with the post in a last-ditch tackle, which resulted in him injuring his knee.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has now confirmed that the 27-year-old is set for a lengthy spell in the treatment room, as he continues to recover from his latest injury blow.

Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has revealed that the Bhoys are looking at signing a central defender in the January transfer window, with Lennon struggling with a lack of depth now that Jullien’s spell on the sidelines has been confirmed.

Celtic are currently sat second in the Scottish Premiership, and now find themselves 19 points adrift of league-leaders Rangers, after a 1-0 defeat to Steven Gerrard’s side in their most recent match.

Plenty of Celtic supporters took to social media to react to this frustrating update on Jullien’s injury.
