Celtic supporters have had to endure a frustrating season this term, with the Bhoys currently sat second in the Scottish Premiership.

However, that doesn’t tell the full picture, with Neil Lennon’s side being 23 points adrift of league-leaders Rangers in the table.

They’ve struggled to put together a positive run of results for much of this year’s campaign, and will be eager to pick up three points when they return to action on Wednesday against Hamilton Academical.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Celtic forward Leigh Griffiths admitted that it was never a forgone conclusion that they would win another league title this term.

“They’ve wanted this for so long. They’ve been singing about it.

“They thought it was a foregone conclusion that we were just going to turn up this season and win the ten. It doesn’t work like that. You need to earn the right to win trophies.”

Griffiths has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season for Neil Lennon’s side, and has scored five goals so far for the Bhoys.

Plenty of Celtic supporters took to the ‘Glasgow Celtic Champions’ Facebook group to voice their frustrations at Griffiths’ recent comments.
