How well do you remember Rangers' 2020/21 season so far? We'll start you off with an easy one... Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the opening gameweek of the Premiership, but which player scored the only goal of the game?

After Steven Gerrard’s side recently beat Celtic in the latest Old Firm Derby that saw his side secure all three points with a 1-0 win at Ibrox to stretch their lead at the top of the SPFL table to 19 points, Osman had this to say about Gerrard and his side’s push for the title.

He said: “They look like they’re well on the way to winning the title. I don’t think Steven will let them get carried away, he’s been in situations where they felt they had the league wrapped up and didn’t quite get over the line so I’m sure he’ll keep them there.”

Since arriving at Rangers back in June 2018, Gerrard has taken charge of 147 games with the club in which they have won 96, drawn 31 and lost 20 (per Transfermarkt).

In his latest game in charge of the club, an own goal from Callum McGregor put Rangers in front during the second half after Nir Bitton was sent off for hauling down Alfredo Morelos after he was charging through on goal (per BBC Sport).

TIF Thoughts on Leon Osman’s comments on Gerrard and Rangers’ title chase…

Given how Gerrard previously revealed that he is still “haunted” by letting his Liverpool side slip away from winning the 2013/14 Premier League title, he will know the importance of not allowing his players to lose focus of their goal before they’ve won it.

This suggests that he will want to make sure his players at Rangers stay focused on each game and remember what’s at stake.
