Many Celtic fans have been raging at the latest comments from Neil Lennon that recently emerged on social media.

Lennon was recently talking about Jeremie Frimpong’s sale to Bayer Leverkusen and in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland (via Daily Record), he was asked about how the club would look to reinvest the money they’ve received from the Dutchman’s sale.

Should Celtic be desperate to spend in January?

In response to that, the Hoops boss said that he will speak to Peter Lawwell soon to get an idea about how the money will be spent. He made it clear that the club’s finances have been affected by the pandemic and the money from the sale may not be spent this month. He said that the club will decide whether to make a move for players or not as they are looking at the possibility of signing a full-back and centre-half.

A tweet about this was relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record. Many Celtic supporters made their views clear about it.

What did Celtic fans make of these comments from Neil Lennon?

“Cos you’re getting sacked that’s why.”

“Unreal that Neil Lennon remains as Celtic manager. His latest ‘rant’ , targeting Barkas signing (and by extension the scouting staff and goalkeeping coach) more evidence of his unsuitability.

“Or… reading between the lines. He’s not trusted to spend it.”

Frimpong has recently joined Leverkusen for a fee of £11.5million and the deal was confirmed on Wednesday. Because of the young Dutchman’s sale, the Hoops have just one senior out-and-out right-back option, though Anthony Ralston has made just a single appearance in the Premiership in the current campaign.
