Celtic fans have been reacting to the performance of Greg Taylor during their victory over Hamilton Academical.

Having gone four games without a win, leaving their very slim title hopes looking even slimmer, these games have started to become more about keeping some sense of pride out of the season, and at the very least trying to ease the pressure on head coach Neil Lennon.

And do that they did, as they picked up three points thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard, but how much breathing space this will by Lennon is yet to be seen.

One person who stood out in the eyes of the fans was 23-year-old left-back Greg Taylor. He’s been in and out of the side so far this season, having to share the opportunities with loanee Diego Laxalt, but he really staked his claim to tie down the spot long term with his display last night, completing 86% of his passes including 2 key passes.

So it was no surprise to see so many positive comments coming in for him during the game:

“Greg Taylor has been outstanding tonight”

“Its mad that Greg taylor is better than laxalt”
“Greg Taylor is a far better option than Laxalt”
“Greg Taylor is so clear of Laxalt”
“Really impressed with Greg Taylor last couple of games, even from an attacking point of view. Massive improvement.”
“hate Greg Taylor but he’s not really put a foot wrong here, he’s not the choice you’d want but better than Laxalt.”

Is Laxalt an upgrade on Greg Taylor?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Whether or not his display was enough to keep him locked down in that spot, we’ll just have to wait and see.
