Supporters of Celtic have recently reacted to some comments on Filip Benkovic that were made by Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.
During the 2018/19 season, the Croatian centre-back was on loan at Parkhead from the Foxes (per Transfermarkt).
Since October last year, the defender had been on loan with Championship club Cardiff City, however, he returned to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday.
Speaking on the player’s future, his manager opened the door for a possible return to Scotland (via Glasgow Times).
Rodgers said: “It’s certainly a possibility. It’s a huge club and he did very well there. We haven’t had any contact but he’s back now and we will see what happens. Celtic would be a great move for him.”
These comments were relayed on Twitter by @celticbible and they had lots of fans talking.
So, what did these Celtic fans have to say about Brendan Rodgers’ comments on Filip Benkovic?
“Good move if it comes off…but then again what’s the point in a silly loan move? Is it supposed t be permanent??”
“18 month loan would make sense.”
During his loan with Cardiff this season, the 23-year-old defender made just one appearance for the Bluebirds in the Championship (per Transfermarkt).
Would you be happy if Celtic re-signed Filip Benkovic?
No, he's not that good

“Benkovic and Rodgers in a swap deal for Lennon and Ajer.”
“Would like to see this move happen. Really liked Benkovic as a player when he was here before Only concern would be the fitness”
“Right Celtic it’s there for the taking do it”
“If all parts want the move it will happen”
“He’s just trying to win our fans back at this point so he has a spare job if he’s sacked”
While at Celtic Park, the centre-back made 27 appearances for the Hoops, in which he managed to bag two goals and provide one assist for a teammate.
With Benkovic at the club, the Bhoys managed to win the Premiership title, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup.
“Spoiler Alert: Wont happen”
“Love and miss ye Brendan”
As can be seen in these responses from Celtic fans, while it was a slightly mixed reaction, the majority of Hoops fans seemed as though they would like to see the defender back at Parkhead.
