A lot of Celtic fans have replied to a post from Anthony Joseph about former Bhoys striker Moussa Dembele.

The Sky Sports man has relayed news being attributed to colleague Kaveh Solhekol, who claims that Dembele has had no contact from West Ham United and isn’t considering leaving Lyon yet.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

Joseph also states that Celtic will be due 10% of any profit from a future sale made by Lyon.

This follows a report from Goal claiming that the former Hoops striker is not interested in a move to West Ham, though he may be open to leaving Lyon during the current transfer window.

This post has drawn in these Celtic fans who feel that Dembele is better than a move to West Ham.

You’d think he’d want to go to a bigger team if he moves. 10%? Let’s get this transfer fee cracked up!”

@PtheT

Better than West Ham surely to god”

@harry_bet

Lyon to West Ham seriously doubt that ..Fake news”

@stegg68

Do you think Dembele can do better than West Ham?

Yes, he should be aiming higher

No, that is his level

No, that is his level

While the Frenchman was with Celtic, he scored 51 goals in 94 appearances before moving to Lyon for £19.8m in the summer of 2018.

Since then, he has made 108 appearances for the Ligue 1 club and has scored 45 goals, so he has still performed well.

The Hammers have just sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax, so they could be looking out for a replacement, but it seems as if Dembele is not interested in leaving Lyon for a move to the Hammers.

This post continued to draw in Celtic fans.

Inbound at Celtic Park on a 6 month loan deal = imminent”

Go to whoever bids the most money”

That 10% sell on clause will go straight to Lawwell’s back pocket.”

So, it is clear that many Bhoys fans do not think that Dembele should move to West Ham, and it looks like at the moment, he will be staying at Lyon.

Therefore, Celtic might have to wait a bit longer to get that 10% cut from Dembele’s next move. Either way, it is clear that Celtic fans are on tenterhooks with regards to their former man’s next move – perhaps regardless of the reported sell-on fee – as seen in the calls for him to return to Parkhead.

While there are no links between him and Celtic, Dembele’s next destination is clearly of concern to the Hoops fans and these comments suggest they are indeed hoping they can get as much as they can from his next sale.
