Supporters of Celtic have recently fumed after some comments from Scottish midfielder Callum McGregor were shared by the Hoops.

In the current round of Premiership fixtures, the Hoops host David Martindale’s Livingston at Celtic Park in a 3pm kick-off (per Transfermarkt).

When the two sides met earlier in the season, the Bhoys were able to claim a 3-2 victory with goals from Albian Ajeti, Ryan Christie and McGregor.

Ahead of the clash today, the midfielder spoke with the media and some of his comments were shared on Twitter by the club (per Celtic).

He said: “We know we have to win every game. Things can change quickly in football, we need to hold on to that belief and as a club look to move forward in the right way.”

After these comments were shared, lots of Celtic fans flocked to them to air various frustrations.

Heading into the game, Neil Lennon’s side sits second in the Premiership table on 44 points, while Livingston are three places lower in fifth, with 30 points (per BBC).

So far this season, the 27-year-old midfielder has made 20 Premiership appearances for Celtic, in which he has scored three goals and provided three assists (per WhoScored).

Over those outings in the Scottish top flight, McGregor has earned an impressive 7.14/10 average rating, making him the joint-sixth-best performer for Celtic.
