Many Celtic fans have been discussing a tweet from Raman Bhardwaj that recently emerged on social media.

Bhardwaj’s recent tweet concerned the situation of Celtic youngster Jeremie Frimpong. He said that the young Dutchman is now on his way out of Parkhead and the player is speaking to a club abroad.

Elsewhere, it has been reported by the Daily Record that Frimpong is now close to a move to Bayer Leverkusen for a fee that could rise to £11.5 million, although Manchester City are believed to hold a 30% sell-on clause as part of that deal.

Bhardwaj’s tweet about Frimpong caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who gave their opinion about the news.

Frimpong had joined Celtic from Manchester City in the summer of 2019 for a fee of £342k. Since then, the Dutchman has turned out to be a regular for the Bhoys, playing 51 times and scoring thrice while picking up eight assists for the club (as per Transfermarkt).

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

Frimpong has previously been linked with a move to Southampton. Serie A giants Roma were also linked with the right-back but Celtic had made it clear that their valuation of the player stood at £13.5 million.

Some of these Celtic fans are frustrated about Frimpong’s potential January departure and they’re making their feelings clear about it, though some appear to be glad for the Dutchman that he looks set to be moving on.

Having said that, Celtic could be making a big profit from Frimpong’s sale, considering the fee that they signed him for. In the league this season, 16 players have picked up better ratings than him so far. This might be a sign of the fact that he is replaceable and if the Hoops sign a proper replacement, they shouldn’t be worried about the youngster’s sale.
