Many Celtic fans have been fuming at a video involving Peter Lawwell that recently emerged on social media, which originated from Sky Sports.

The Celtic chief executive recently issued an apology to the club’s fans for their trip to Dubai during a global pandemic. He admitted that the decision was a ‘mistake’ from the Bhoys in hindsight. He went on to apologise to the club’s supporters for the mistake.

He said that the outcome of the trip has been ‘regrettable’ as things haven’t gone the way the club had wanted. Christopher Jullien had tested positive for the virus on his return to Glasgow, while multiple members of the staff had gone into isolation. This included Neil Lennon and John Kennedy.

A video of Lawwell’s apology was relayed on Facebook by Glasgow Celtic Champions. Many Hoops fans made their views clear about it.

What did Celtic fans make of this video involving Lawwell?

In the interview, Lawwell also said that the previous trips to Dubai from Celtic were successful and the decision to do the same this season was taken for the best interests of the Parkhead-based side. He described the facilities in Dubai to be ‘world class’ and they would have benefited the club’s first-team quite a lot (as per the Daily Record).

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

Since multiple members of the club’s staff were in isolation, the Hoops had to field a weakened team in their recent game against Hibernian, which ended 1-1.

Clearly, these Celtic fans are very angry at Lawwell and some of them want him to depart Parkhead too.

Considering how the trip to Dubai seems to have affected the club’s performances on the pitch, it is understandable why fans are unhappy. If the club hadn’t travelled to Dubai, perhaps they could have fielded their first team and the gap with Rangers wouldn’t have been as wide as 21 points – so the anger from fans is justified.
