Celtic goalkeeper Conor Hazard has come under fierce criticism for his part in Hibs’ late equaliser in their draw at Celtic Park last night.
The 22-year-old had actually had a pretty good night between the sticks, making five saves throughout the night, but sadly when the crucial moment came he rather fluffed his lines as he flapped at a ball in the area that allowed Kevin Nisbet to grab the ball at the far post and turn it home at the second time of asking.
And despite his earlier display, Celtic fans were not best pleased with what they saw from the stopper and they let him know about it afterwards, even if there were perhaps one or two others that could have done a little bit better in that situation as well.
“Hazard had such an assured performance up until the equaliser; he made a similar mistake in the final. Decent young keeper but not the quality that we desire for a No.1. strengthening that area is an absolute must this month”
Do Celtic need to buy a new goalkeeper this window?
Yes
No
The goalkeeping position has been something that has been talked about before at Celtic Park, and a moment like this could come back to haunt him when Neil Lennon decides what to do with the ones he’s got at his disposal.
