Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

One topic which the pair spent a lot of time on was potential replacements for Neil Lennon.

One name who was mentioned, who has been mentioned in connection with the Celtic job in the past, was former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick.

The German has been a manager and a Sporting Director at various clubs across Europe.

While Dykes was talking about another potential candidate, he revealed his feelings on Rangnick coming to Celtic.

He said: (36:22) “We ran a show last week because Eddie Howe was the frontrunner for the new Celtic manager, but others were mentioned and there’s a [fear] and I think that’s a bit disrespectful, that we’re going go for someone like Jack Ross; Jack Ross has shown a lot of promise as a manager.

“Sometimes you say a name and you are just shot down, I mean a few people have mentioned Ralf Rangnick, and the answer to that is he would never come to Celtic.”

Do you think Rangnick would ever go to Celtic?

Yes, he could do

Yes, he could do

No, he will be looking for something else

TIF Thoughts on Rangnick…

So, Dykes seems pretty dismissive of Rangnick ever coming to Celtic.

The German is thought to be one of the most influential coaches in the modern game, and he has achieved strong league finishes in the Bundesliga with Schalke and RB Leipzig in the past.

So, he has proven that he can perform at the top level and you would think that given his time as a Sporting Director for Leipzig and other clubs the 62-year-old might have an eye for a player as well.

However, Dykes seems to think that he would never move to Glasgow but you just never know and it will be intriguing to see what happens if the Bhoys get rid of Lennon.
