John from The Grand Auld Podcast has been speaking on the latest edition of the show about all things Celtic.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

One of the topics that he and the panel spent a lot of time on was the Old Firm derby that ended in a 1-0 defeat for the Bhoys.

This then led to discussions over Celtic Football Club’s future and potential managerial options for when Neil Lennon goes.

One person who John mentioned was John Kennedy, and he issued a claim over Kennedy becoming the next manager of Celtic.

He said: (40:09) “John Kennedy has been moulded for this for years.

“It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he’s the next manager, to be honest with you.”

TIF Thoughts on Kennedy becoming the Celtic boss…

Kennedy is the current assistant manager to Lennon, and he has held that role since February 2019.

Before that, he was a scout and the assistant manager of the Under-20s, among other things.

So, he has come up through the ranks at Celtic, and you would think he knows the club pretty well.

However, given that he has very little experience as the manager of a first-team squad, then we think that the Celtic job might be a bit too big for Kennedy at this moment in time.

If the Bhoys do look to replace Lennon, then surely they should be looking for someone with a bit more experience?

However, Rangers took a gamble by appointing Steven Gerrard, who had minimal experience as a manager before he moved to Ibrox, and now he has the Gers 19 points clear of Celtic.

So, on that basis, could Kennedy be worth a risk?

We are not sure he will be, but we will be intrigued to see what Celtic decide to do about Lennon.
