The Athletic’s West Ham United correspondent Roshane Thomas has claimed that Tomas Soucek “loves” playing for the Hammers.

Last January, the Irons sealed the arrival of the Czech Republic midfielder on loan from Slavia Prague before his move was made permanent in the summer for £14.58m (per Transfermarkt).

Since his arrival at the London Stadium, the 25-year-old middleman has made 34 appearances for the club, in which he has bagged an impressive tally of 10 goals.

According to TEAMtalk, his form has been so impressive for the Hammers that he has already attracted the attention of Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.

During the latest episode of The Athletic’s U Irons podcast, Thomas spent some time discussing Soucek and aired how he is feeling at the club.

Who did West Ham United face in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

He said: “I definitely think West Ham can hold onto Tomas Soucek. About a month ago, I spoke to a few people close to Soucek and they’re saying he’s loving life at West Ham, absolutely loving life.

“He’s so appreciative of the club and what they’ve done in terms of helping him feel settled in London.

“There are a few reports that Bayern Munich were interested in signing Soucek and they were laughing, they were like, ‘No chance, Soucek loves it at West Ham.’

“He thoroughly enjoys playing under David Moyes, there’s no way he’s [looking] for a move to leave right now.

“He just wants to keep doing well [and] wants to keep leading by example because right now, Soucek’s the main guy.

“Players in the Czech Republic are looking up to Soucek and being like, ‘I’d love to be like him one day. I’d love to be in his position one day and doing well.'”

TIF Thoughts on what Roshane Thomas said about Tomas Soucek…

As can be seen in what the reporter had to say, he believes that the 25-year-old midfielder has no interest at all in leaving the London Stadium at the moment.

Does Tomas Soucek have the potential to be a West Ham legend?

No, he's not good enough

Yes, he's a class player

Yes, he's a class player

This will likely be an exciting claim for West Ham fans as he has been a key performer for Moyes’ side in the Premier League so far this season.

Over 20 Premier League appearances, he has scored seven goals and earned a stellar 7.42/10 average rating, making him comfortably the best-performing player in the squad.

So, it will likely come as good news to hear how happy the player is with the Irons.
