Ian McGarry has been speaking on the latest edition of The Transfer Window podcast about transfers news for various clubs in Scotland and England.
One of the teams that he spent a little bit of time on was West Ham United, who sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax last week and are now looking for a replacement.
One man who McGarry believes West Ham want is Odsonne Edouard, who has recently changed his agent; however, it looks like the Frenchman has no interest in joining David Moyes’ side.
He said: (37:45) “So, Haller out, and they are now looking for a striker.
“It is the case that they are interested in Edouard from Celtic, but Edouard is not interested in West Ham.
“Therefore, it’s going to be a bit of a race against time for David Moyes, I think, to fill that space given that Michail Antonio, who’s suffered a lot of injuries in the past few months, is now the only recognised experienced centre-forward.”
Do you want to sign Edouard?
No, if he doesn't want to join I don't want him
Yes, he could be the ideal addition
TIF Thoughts on Edouard…
The 22-year-old had a stellar season for the Bhoys last year as he scored 28 goals in all competitions; however, this season, he has not been as good and has scored 11 goals, with seven of them coming in the league, though there’s no doubting his prolific finishing in front of goal.
So, he hasn’t actually performed that well this season, but if McGarry is correct, that hasn’t stopped him from not wanting to join West Ham.
Edouard, who is valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, has been linked with moves to the likes of Leicester City and Arsenal, so perhaps he is waiting for a club like that to make their move.
We feel that if Edouard isn’t interested in moving to West Ham, the Hammers should move on and try to sign another striker.
