Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news that the club have shown an interest in Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral.
According to a report in Turkish outlet Fanatik, Tottenham are one of the teams interested in his services, alongside the likes of Real & Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Leicester City, going on to state that the Italian side are looking for €50m (£45.2m) for him, a hefty increase on the €18m (£16.3m) that they paid for him back in 2019.
A very impressive figure at the back for Juventus, he currently leads the side in terms of clearances per game, ranks third in interceptions and second in passing with a completion rate of 95.2% – with the news making Spurs fans clearly very excited, as they couldn’t contain their excitement at being linked with such a figure:
“I’d take him all day”
Do Tottenham need to bring in another CB this window?
Yes
No
The defence is clearly an area that Jose Mourinho is looking to focus on during his time in north London, having already bought a right-back, centre-back and left-back this summer, so the signing of Demiral would allow him to complete the set. And looking at the age of the defenders, he could be setting the foundations for a long time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
