Former sporting director of Lille and Monaco, Luis Campos, the man who discovered the likes of Kylian Mbappe, has been speaking exclusively to The Transfer Window podcast about his career and next steps.
Campos went into huge detail on a number of topics and one that he spent some time on was if he would consider working with Jose Mourinho again.
The 56-year-old and Mourinho are known to be great friends having previously linked up at Real Madrid, and while he didn’t definitely say that he would want to work with the Tottenham boss again, he didn’t rule it out either.
He said: “Like I said before, Jose is a friend.
“He’s a big friend, a great friend.
“We have enormous respect for each other. We will not live with the obsession to return to work together.
“So, Jose, for me, is a top friend, big, big friend, so I think if one day it’s possible [to] work together, it will come naturally.
“So, I don’t know what is happening in the future, but I think we don’t have this obsession to return to work together.”
Do you want to see Campos at Spurs?
Yes, that would be ideal
No, we don't need him
TIF Thoughts on Campos’ words…
So, Campos clearly is a good friend of Mourinho’s, but while he stopped short of pouring cold water over a potential reunion, he does appear open to it happening, which could be good news for Spurs fans.
Campos has a superb track record and has helped discover the likes of Mbappe, Bernardo Silva and Fabinho, so he has a knack for uncovering excellent players.
We would love to see Campos reunited with Mourinho as, given his track record, he could make some great signings for Tottenham.
