Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Spurs centre-back, Davinson Sanchez.

Having been an unused substitute in Tottenham’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool in the week, Jose Mourinho placed his trust in Sanchez for the fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion, awarding the £36 million-rated 24-year-old just his seventh start in the Premier League this season.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

However, after Spurs went into half-time 1-0 down against the Seagulls, with Sanchez having lost possession of the ball five times in the opening 45 minutes, Mourinho decided to change things up in the interval, withdrawing the Colombia international and introducing Carlos Vinicius.

And, in reaction to Sanchez’s first-half display, fans of Tottenham took to Twitter to slam the defender’s performance, with some suggesting that the fixture could spell the end of the 24-year-old’s time at the club.

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to Davinson Sanchez’s first-half display?

Sissoko is not a RWB I’m still convinced that Sanchez is blagging a living as a defender #THFC #COYS”

@Jasonsnell17

“Really wish Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez didn’t play for my club.”

@LamboTHFC

“When are we going to look at the manager??. He put Sissoko at RWB?? He’s playing Sanchez who is a liability and we only have two in the midfield and there is nothing there for Ndombele. Vinicius still hasn’t got a chance. We must look at him”

@harvey_jm27

Think Sanchez has to go now #THFC #COYS”

@bigtime1882

Bergwijn, Davies, Sanchez and Sissoko shouldn’t be anywhere near this starting eleven, dreadful #THFC #COYS”

@Lummers89

“Sanchez, the only player of his height to never win a challenge in the air or on the floor, waste of space”

@nickjdspalding

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Tottenham fans were not happy with what they saw from Sanchez in the first half of the fixture, with some dubbing the centre-back a waste of space, while others claimed that the defender, along with a number of other Spurs players, is an embarrassment to the club.
