One player who there is a question mark hanging over for the game is Lamela, as the £14.4m-rated Argentine has not featured in Tottenham’s squad in their previous three games in all competitions (per Transfermarkt).

During his pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of the Cottagers, the club’s Portuguese manager was asked about the winger (per, live blog, 12:41, 12/01/21).

He said: “(Long pause) He is [available] but I don’t know, but I think you understand what I want to mean. He can be selected for tomorrow, he can. Legally he can but I still have a decision to make.”

These comments were relayed to Spurs fans on Twitter by Alasdair Gold and they had lots of fans talking.
