Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have recently gushed over a transfer link with RB Leipzig’s French centre-back Ibrahima Konate.

According to a recent tweet from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Jose Mourinho’s side are amon’informed and interested’ in the 21-year-old defender.

It is also claimed by Falk that the young centre-back has a release clause in his contract at the Red Bull Arena and that stands at €40m (£35.4m).

However, the journalist did note that the release clause is ‘for summer‘, presumably meaning that the clause is not currently in play.

Furthermore, Falk stated that there was interest from two other top-flight clubs in England, those being north-west outfits Manchester United and Liverpool.

This claim was relayed to Tottenham fans on Twitter by Last Word On Spurs and it had lots of supporters talking.

So far this season, the 21-year-old defender has made six Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig, in which he has managed 0.7 tackles and 1.0 interceptions per match (per WhoScored).

Those figures have made him only Leipzig’s 13th-best tackler, however, their joint-sixth-best interceptor.

His average rating over the outings has been fairly solid, as he has earned a 6.81/10, making him the 10th-best performer in the league for his club.
