Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the latest reports surrounding Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

The two names have more or less been dominating the current transfer market for the North London club, with Alli being linked with a move to French side Paris Saint-Germain since December and there being an ever-growing sense that Eriksen is in the process of making the move back to North London having left this time last year.

According to a report from RMC Sport journalist Loïc Tanzi, the plan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains to essentially operate a one-in, one-out policy and have Eriksen take Alli’s spot in the team.

With Alli being something of an outcast in recent months, not contributing to the team and Eriksen arguably having the best spell of his career in North London, it would look like a no-brainer, an immediate upgrade. However, Tottenham fans on social media didn’t think so, as they flat-out refused to accept the idea of the move:

“What a stupid decision”

“Yea that’s gonna be a no for me dog”
“That’s just criminal”
“absurd.”
“That…is a downgrade. Eriksen was at his peak in Pochettino’s best years at Spurs. Dele *might* have had his best goal scoring seasons for us but has potential to still develop in other areas. If we do replace him, we should do better”
“We lack ambition.”

“Big yikes”

Do you think Spurs will sign anyone this month?

YES

NO

Perhaps they’re somewhat wary of the old ‘you should never go back’ cliché, which hasn’t always resulted in players coming back the way they were when they left.
