Tottenham had signed as many as seven players in the summer transfer window. This included Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton and Matt Doherty from Wolves. Giovani Lo Celso had signed permanently in January 2020 for a fee of £27.2m. The Lilywhites spent well above £50 million in the summer (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Spurs fans also flocked to the update about the club’s potential signing in the January transfer window.

A lot of these Spurs fans want their club to sign a centre-back this month, while some fans want Sergio Ramos at the club.

As things stand, Spurs have five out-and-out options for the centre-back role, including young Japhet Tanganga. This might suggest that they have enough cover in that position, but Davinson Sanchez has been linked with an exit and both him and Joe Rodon haven’t picked up great ratings in the Premier League either (as per WhoScored).
