Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have been discussing an update about the club’s transfers that recently emerged on social media.

Journalist Marc Benamram has recently reported that Spurs are looking to bring in one new signing in the January transfer window as manager Jose Mourinho is looking to add to the squad. He also said that there is no clarity about who the target can be.

Do Spurs need a centre-back this month?

This update about the club’s business this month was relayed on Twitter by The Spurs Express. It left many Tottenham fans discussing the news about their club.

Tottenham had signed as many as seven players in the summer transfer window. This included Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton and Matt Doherty from Wolves. Giovani Lo Celso had signed permanently in January 2020 for a fee of £27.2m. The Lilywhites spent well above £50 million in the summer (as per Transfermarkt).

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

Some other Spurs fans also flocked to the update about the club’s potential signing in the January transfer window.

“We need at least 3. 1 is simply disgraceful”

“Is this a joke tweet or an actual rumour?”

A lot of these Spurs fans want their club to sign a centre-back this month, while some fans want Sergio Ramos at the club.

As things stand, Spurs have five out-and-out options for the centre-back role, including young Japhet Tanganga. This might suggest that they have enough cover in that position, but Davinson Sanchez has been linked with an exit and both him and Joe Rodon haven’t picked up great ratings in the Premier League either (as per WhoScored).
