Tottenham Hotspur fans are not happy to find themselves in the market for Jesse Lingard this transfer window.

A report from TalkSPORT has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur, along with fellow Premier League sides West Ham United and Sheffield United, are ‘queuing up’ to sign the Manchester United man, who has very much been an outcast at the club this season, only making three appearances in all competitions. With the European Championships on the horizon, you’d imagine that Lingard will need as much game time as he can if he’s to make a late bid for the squad.

And with Spurs potentially set to lose midfielder Dele Alli, it could be a case of one man in and one out in north London.

However, this isn’t news that fans online seemed to be happy to hear, as they more or less washed their hands of the idea of him making the move:

“If this is true this club is a joke”

“This would seem more realistic to happen than Eriksen. Especially if Dele goes to PSG. Lingard, being English, would simply take Dele’s place in the squad. Wouldn’t have to worry about foreign numbers. Doesn’t mean I’d like it to happen though.”
“surely there’s no ‘race’ to sign JLingz”
“This finishes me. If this happens then I am finished til Jose leaves. We do not need more players that are able to run around a lot or “put a shift in”. We have enough of these types of players already. We need qualm”
“Insane. Thought team was trying to get rid of dead weight? Awful signing. Worst player. Shouldn’t even be in the PL.”
“If Dele can’t get in the team, what chance does he have?”

Perhaps if this move was being proposed after his performances at the World Cup in 2018, where he scored once and assisted twice, they’d be more on board with the idea, but it looks like he’s damaged goods at this point.
