Fabrizio Romano claims that there has yet to be an offer come in for former Tottenham Hotspur man Christian Eriksen, but the club are open to selling him.

The former Spurs man has been linked with a move back to North London in recent weeks, where he arguably had the best numbers in his career, and having failed to impress since moving to Internazionale this time last year, it could be a chance for his career to get back on track.

However, speaking to Give Me Sport, Romano claims that there has yet to be any sort of communication between the two clubs, or indeed any club and the Italian side at this moment in time, but that Inter are willing to sell him even if they have to wait a while for the offers to come in.

“So yes, I expect him to leave the club. Inter want to sell Christian Eriksen right now. I don’t know about the Premier League just because talking with people around Inter still today, they say ‘we are hoping to receive something because at the moment, all rumours are not true, about Paris Saint-Germain, about Arsenal, about Tottenham, about West Ham, we have not received anything, so we just hope to arrive in the last week [of the window] and receive something.”

Would you take Eriksen back at Spurs in January?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Romano’s words should offer up some level of encouragement to Spurs fans who might want to see him come back to North London.

The fact that Inter are willing to sell would indicate that they might be able to get him back on the cheap if they were to go in and make a bid, perhaps for less than what they sold him for during last year’s window. But if they are to go after him, they are probably best to do so sooner rather than later.

Tottenham are in a very precarious position right now in terms of the league table, with any and all points being crucial, so they can’t afford to wait around if they think he can make a difference to their side.
