Many Tottenham Hotspur fans were left unimpressed by the display that Carlos Vinícius gave during their win over Wycombe Wanderers.
The Brazilian forward took up his usual role in the starting eleven for cup competitions in the game at Adams Park, and with games coming thick and fast for Jose Mourinho’s men, this would have been the perfect opportunity for him to show why he should be getting more than the 24 minutes that he’s received so far in the Premier League.
However, he failed to do so against the Championship side, only managing to get away one shot during the game, and even that was off target. So it was no surprise then to see him dragged off just before the hour mark for Harry Kane in an attempt to try and win the game.
Which meant that it was also no surprise to see the 25-year-old come in for some criticism from supporters on social media for his lacklustre display:
“I’ve said it before I don’t think Vinicius will cut it against defenders or teams of a decent level.”
Do you think Spurs should sign Vinicius permanently at the end of his loan deal?
Yes
No
There may be more opportunities for him later in the season to impress, and we’ll just have to wait and see if he does better with his next one.
