Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to news regarding their interest in Lille defender Sven Botman.

Speaking on We Are Tottenham TV (14:07), noted journalist Fabrizio Romano noted that Jose Mourinho’s men are interested in bringing in the Dutchman in during the summer window. A product of the Ajax youth setup, the 20-year-old only signed for the French side last summer in a move reported to be around €8-9m (£7.1-8m).

Centre-back has been a position that Mourinho is certainly focused on improving, with the likes of Milan Skriniar and Kim Min-jae both names that have been reportedly linked with a move to north London in recent weeks.

And Spurs fans seemed to be pretty excited about the news that they were interested in signing him, but there did seem to be some concern about the timing of the deal, saying they should be making the move now rather than later when they think he’ll be too expensive for them:

“Why dont we sell sanchez and buy him now? Or vestergaard? In summer will be all europe going for him.”

“sell sanchez get him now.”
“If only”
“Came out of nowhere this. Is he any good or one of those players that gets gassed for a few flicks and tackles?”
“He’s the closest anyone could get to an out and out Vertonghen replacement”
“NO WAYYYY”

Would you be happy if Spurs signed Sven Botman from LOSC Lille?

No, he's not good enough

No, he's not good enough

Yes, he's a solid player

Yes, he's a solid player

So it looks as if Tottenham could be taking a pretty big gamble in the eyes of these fans if they don’t act soon enough.
