Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Heung-min Son and his performance during the north London club’s recent 3-1 win over Sheffield United.
Goals from Serge Aurier, Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele secured the three points for Jose Mourinho’s side after failing to beat Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in midweek.
Despite seeing their team win the match at Bramall Lane, lots of Spurs fans were not impressed by what they saw from Lilywhites winger Heung-min Son in the game, with many flocking to Twitter to share their thoughts on his latest display for the club.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about Son’s performance against Sheffield United?
“Need Son to start netting again, man looks tired.”
“For a player that keeps good composure in front of the box and has been in top form in the beginning of the season, son’s two matches so far makes me think he’s slightly on edge. Hopefully, he’ll win back his confidence bc guy’s got serious skills #SHUTOT #THFC #COYS”
“Son has gone off the boil in the last few games, we really need him to get back on it. A good rest for the squad coming up which should help us going forward.”
“#THFC another game where the Son didn’t shine.”
“I’ll say this, what has Son been doing all game? Ghosting again. Even Bergwijn’s been better than him”
“Son really has been poor and still has an assist. Hahaha”
Looking at this group of replies from these Spurs fans, it’s clear to see that they were not happy with what they saw from the 28-year-old against Chris Wilder’s side. Interestingly, the attacker managed to achieve a rating of 7/10 (as per Evening Standard) for his efforts, which included an assist for Serge Aurier’s opening goal of the game, so perhaps these fans are being slightly harsh.
Do you think Son looked tired against Sheffield United?
Yes
No
Indeed, with the £81m-rated man having scored 12 goals and providing six assists in the 18 league games he’s played in so far this season, it would be hard for him in our view to keep up to the high quality level he’s made for himself in every single league game this season.
