Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Harry Winks over his latest appearance for the north London club in their recent 3-0 win over Leeds United.
Goals from Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Toby Alderweireld secured all three points for Jose Mourinho’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it was Winks’ display that caught the attention of a lot of Lilywhites supporters for all the wrong reasons.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about Harry Winks’ performance against Leeds?
“Honestly Harry winks looks so scared to run forward with the ball”
“Winks offers nothing”
“Embarrassing that winks got the number 8 at tottenham”
“Harry Winks so so so bad. Weight of pass, shooting, defending”
“I forgot Harry Winks was even playing”
“Harry Winks is stealing a living masquerading as a footballer”
The 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £22.5 million, made his senior debut for Spurs back in November 2014. Since then, the midfielder has made 158 appearances for the north London club in which he has managed to score three goals and provide three assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Looking at these tweets from this group of Spurs fans, it’s clear to see that they were not overly impressed by Winks’ display against the Yorkshire club, despite the win and clean sheet.
Do you think Winks had a good game against Leeds?
With The Express just giving Winks a player rating of 6/10, this proves that he wasn’t at his best against Leeds and that he has room for improvement.
