Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering making a bid of £20 million for Norwich City defender Max Aarons according to The Sunday Mirror (24th January, page 72).
Aarons has been a regular for the Canaries in the Championship this season, having made 27 appearances in total for Daniel Farke’s side in all competitions.
Norwich are currently sat top of the second-tier standings after their opening 25 matches of this year’s campaign, and Farke is clearly keen to keep hold of the full-back.
Spanish giants Barcelona were previously believed to be interested in a deal to sign Aarons, but Farke revealed that he would turn down a bid of £100 million.
But it appears as though his recent performances have caught the eye of Spurs, with Jose Mourinho’s side weighing up a move for the 21-year-old before the January transfer window reaches a conclusion.
Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on the club’s rumoured interest in signing Aarons.
Take a look at the best of the reaction from Twitter below.
“Norwich arguably have at least 3 players who get in to our first team (Skipp, Buendia, Aarons). Shows how great a job our recruitment team has done over the past 5 years.”
“Might as well of kept Kyle Walker-Peters.”
“Huge potential but we shouldn’t be looking into future prospects when we have current liabilities who need to be improved.”
“Has he grown 5 inches since last summer? We were told Mourinho thought he was too short previously.”
“As long as it doesn’t include any deals with Skipp staying at Norwich then all good.”
“Please make this happen. Right back is position we need to strengthen the most.”
“Good move I reckon.”
“Get him- going to be a superb player.”
“He would be so so good omds”
