Tottenham fans have been reacting to news of a potential exit from the team this January, although one less high-profile than the rumoured Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris departures.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Spurs are willing to allow goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga to leave the club this window, with Jose Mourinho reportedly preferring Joe Hart to be his first-choice backup rather than the Argentinian.

The 29-year-old Gazzaniga has been mooted with a move away from north London before, with Fulham reportedly interested in taking him to Craven Cottage last summer. Now though it appears Spurs are more willing to make something happen.

Spurs fans didn’t exactly take the news too well, as a number of them felt that he is a much better option to Hart as backup goalkeeper, although there were some fans who sympathised with his situation, saying a player of his quality deserves a shot at regular minutes elsewhere:

“Fuming should be second choice”

“Puzzling that hart is rated above gazza,is it a homegrown quota thing?it can’t be justified on level of ability.”
“I like him but he’s too good to be third choice, hope he can find a good club to join”
“Big mistake”
“Ridiculous. Much better than Hart. Although for his sake I think it’s a good thing. He’s way too good and been far too good a servant to Spurs to waste his career on the bench.”
“Gazzaniga >>>>>>>>> Hart”
