It’s safe to say that Cameron Carter-Vickers’ time with Spurs has been a frustrating one for all parties involved at this moment in time.

The American international has made just four appearances in total for Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team, but has spent a number of years out on loan at other clubs, as he goes in search of regular game time in senior football.

Carter-Vickers spent last year’s campaign on loan with both Stoke City and Luton Town, and featured regularly for both teams in the Championship in the 2019/20 season.

The defender would have returned to Spurs in the summer hoping to force his way into the first-team plans, but his long-term future with the club looks ‘up in the air’, with the 23-year-old being sent out on loan to AFC Bournemouth for this year’s campaign.

He is yet to make an appearance for the Cherries this season though, as they look to win promotion back into the Premier League under the management of Jason Tindall.

Carter-Vickers celebrates his 23rd birthday on New Year’s Eve, and Tottenham’s official Twitter account wished him well on the day.

Plenty of Spurs supporters were quick to respond to this social post though, with many of them forgetting that the defender was still contracted to the club.

Take a look at the best of the reaction below.
