Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has dropped a hint over Spurs winger Erik Lamela.

This comes after Gold recently uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel where he spoke about a number of topics concerning the north London club.

How well can you remember Spurs' season so far? 1. Who is Spurs' top scorer in all competitions so far this season?

On the subject of the three Spurs players, including Lamela, that were caught breaking government and club protocols over the Christmas period by having a party, Gold had this to say about Lamela in particular. (7.12)

He said: “I think there’s a little bit more to come on Erik Lamela which I’m not at liberty to say right now but just keep an eye on it, we’ve got more stuff coming on that, that’s all I’ll say right now.”

Spurs signed the Argentine, who is now valued at £14.4 million (as per Transfermarkt), back in 2013 from Italian side AS Roma for a fee of £27 million.

Since then, the 28-year-old has made 234 appearances for the Lilywhites in which he has managed to score 35 goals and provide 46 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

After a picture was posted online of Lamela, Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon together with friends and family over Christmas, the club released a statement saying that they were “extremely disappointed and strongly condemn” the image, particularly as they “know the sacrifices everybody around the country made to stay safe over the festive period.”

TIF Thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s comments on Lamela…

While Gold’s comments on Lamela were pretty vague, there’s every possibility that he could find his way out of the club now that the January transfer window has opened.

Would you like to see Lamela leave Spurs this month?

Given how the winger has failed to score a goal or provide an assist in any of the six Premier League appearances he’s made so far this season, maybe moving him on from the club could be a viable option.
