Many Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to slate Jamal Lewis’ performance in the Toon’s latest Premier League clash versus Everton on Saturday afternoon.
The left-back played a part in a move that created a ‘brilliant’ chance for Newcastle in the 33rd minute of this game, per ChronicleLive, while 14 minutes before that, he sent ‘a lovely cross’ into the penalty area which forced the Toffees to concede a corner kick.
However, that evidently didn’t impress a lot of Toon supporters, as the 23-year-old has been receiving a lot of criticism from fans of the North East club on Twitter.
So, what have these Newcastle United fans been saying about Lewis?
Plenty of Toon fans shared that they find Lewis frustrating, with some fans of the North East club indicating that they believe the £13.5m-rated man is the Toon’s worst player.
“Best 66 min I’ve seen for along time …team performance so far good ..Lewis weakest link at the moment #nufc”
“Lewis looks hesitant with the ball. Often seems keen to get rid quickly #NUFC”
“Jamal Lewis makes my blood boil”
“Our composure at the back has completely gone… hacking clearances when we have time to control it, I’m looking specifically at Jamal Lewis, CALM DOWN!!! #NUFC”
Is Lewis Newcastle's worst player?
“Jamal Lewis is not a footballer”
“Jamal Lewis is the worst player to stick on a Newcastle shirt”
Ironically, Lewis went on to supply Callum Wilson with the ball for his second goal – though judging by what these Newcastle fans have had to say about Lewis, it seems like the summer signing still has some way to go to win over fans of his new club.
