Many Newcastle United fans have been slating Jeff Hendrick over his performance in the Toon’s FA Cup loss to Arsenal on Saturday evening.
Hendrick was back in action for the first time since he played 62 minutes and scored once in the Toon’s 5-2 Premier League loss to Leeds United on 16th December, as he started in central midfield for this FA Cup clash.
Per The Guardian, the midfielder had a notable goalscoring chance late in the second half of normal time as he sent the ball wide via a backheel but that attempt on goal doesn’t seem to have impressed many Toon fans, judging by these tweets.
So, what have these Newcastle United fans been saying about Hendrick?
Plenty of Toon supporters have been raging at the £8.1m-rated man, who joined the Toon on a free transfer last summer, and his performance on his return to action at the Emirates Stadium.
“Watch how lazy Hendrick is!!!”
“Hendrick aka the invisible man. #NUFC”
“Hendrick is a passenger far too often..”
“Hendrick literally walking about, that ball from Ritchie was decent to.”
“Apparently Jeff Hendrick is playing. Who knew? #nufc”
Was Hendrick Newcastle's worst player versus Arsenal?
YES
NO
“Carroll will have ran further than Hendrick in this games he’s a joke man.”
“Even for free Hendrick was a waste of money……”
All in all, it’s clear that many Newcastle fans will be hoping to see the 28-year-old former Burnley man produce some better performances for the Toon than this one in the future.
