Many Newcastle United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by ChronicleLive’s chief Newcastle writer Lee Ryder in which he shared the news that Toon manager Steve Bruce has suggested that Newcastle would be open to selling Matt Ritchie.

This post included a link to an article from ChronicleLive which shared comments from Bruce on the possibility that the £8.55m-rated man could be on his way out of St. James’ Park, amid links with Championship side Bournemouth

On that note, speaking before the club’s victory over Everton, the Toon boss said: “He is a very good player for the club and has been here five years. His frustration is he is not playing week-in, week-out. We have to make way to bring somebody in so we can never say never.”

So, how have these Newcastle United fans been reacting to Bruce’s revelation?

After this article was shared on Twitter by Ryder, plenty of Toon supporters replied to the journalist’s tweet and many of them indicated that they don’t think Ritchie should be sold.

Should Newcastle sell Ritchie?

“Crazy idea, we need character, strength and spirit in the team especially in the position we are in and Matt has shown this time and time again. My guess is he and Bruce have had words that why he’s for sale”

“Big mistake this in my opinion. Is a world beater now, no he’s not but he’s a massive character in the dressing room and something we won’t replace. Didn’t Bruce get him a new contract less than 6 months ago as well”

Judging by these Newcastle fans’ tweets, it’s clear that many Toon supporters value Ritchie highly and feel it would be a mistake for the club to let him go.
