Easy one to get us underway, in what month during 2019 was Steve Bruce appointed Newcastle manager?

One topic that The Chronicle reporter spoke about was the Toon’s upcoming game against Sheffield United, and he thinks that despite the Blades having only picked up two points this season, Steve Bruce could be happy with a draw at Bramall Lane.

He said: “I think [for] Newcastle it’s a dangerous fixture for them.

“Privately, Steve Bruce and his backroom team might say a point would be another one on the board.

“They would never say that in public. They just don’t want to lose that game because suddenly then the pressure is right back on them.”

Would you be happy with a draw against Sheffield United?

No, we have to win

Yes, that would be a decent result

TIF Thoughts on Lee Ryder’s claim…

If Bruce would actually be happy with a draw against a Sheffield United side who have lost 15 of their 17 league games this season, then serious questions should probably be asked.

Newcastle are winless in their last seven games in all competitions, and this should be seen as an opportunity to turn that around and start to build up some momentum.

Still, with claims like these and Bruce’s comments on the Blades, many Toon fans could be in for a disappointing evening.

Newcastle are currently eight points above the relegation zone and seven points away from the top ten, so they are a bit stuck, and you would think this match should be seen as a chance to try and push on.

We hope that Bruce is targeting a win here for the sake of the Toon fans, but it remains to be seen what happens.
