Some Newcastle United fans have been responding to a tweet that was recently posted by Toon-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 which shared ChronicleLive’s latest update on Newcastle’s pursuit of Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams.

This comes after it was previously reported that the North East club have agreed the framework of a deal, in principle, to sign the 20-year-old on loan, but the deal is yet to officially be confirmed.

Now, this article from ChronicleLive has shed some light on Williams’ feelings on a move to St. James’ Park.

According to this report, Williams only wants to leave Old Trafford for another Premier League club and is said to be ‘keen on’ a transfer to Steve Bruce’s side.

So, how have these Newcastle United fans reacted to this update?

After this update was shared on Twitter by @NUFC360, it caught plenty of Toon fans’ attention. Many of the Newcastle fans who have been responding to this post have reacted negatively.

Some indicated that they don’t want their club to sign Williams, one particular Newcastle fan criticised the club for not getting the deal done already if the player is as keen on the move as suggested, and another Toon supporter suggested that creativity from midfield is a bigger area of concern than the full-back position – where Williams plays – indicating that he won’t solve that issue.

Easy one to get us underway, in what month during 2019 was Steve Bruce appointed Newcastle manager?

“He’s another hot head, you can see the anger when he goes in for a tackle. Not controlled aggression at all.”

“So, why isn’t the deal done. I presume the identified him as a target before the window opened and enquired. If not why not. Why waste weeks when he could be playing .”

All in all, it may be fair to say that this update hasn’t gone down very well with many Newcastle fans.
