Many Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Toon-focused Twitter account @NUFC360 which relayed comments from Newcastle manager Steve Bruce on the possibility of the North East club changing manager.
This comes after the 60-year-old has faced criticism from many fans of the North East club.
Now, per ChronicleLive, Bruce has indicated that he feels press coverage of him and his time at St. James’ Park has been unfair, describing it as “unbelievable” and always “negative,” while he also asked of the possibility the club will sack him and change manager: “Why? What is it going to get you and what is it going to gain?” – indicating that he feels a different manager would fare no better than he is with the Magpies.
So, how have these Newcastle United fans been reacting to Bruce’s comments?
After these comments were relayed by @NUFC360, many Newcastle fans replied to their tweet to slate Bruce.
“He’s so rattled”
“Oh dear”
“Beyond parody.”
“He’s having a meltdown.”
“Wow.”
Would changing manager improve Newcastle?
YES
NO
“Fraud”
“The beginning of the end this. He’ll be sacked as soon as we fall in the bottom 3; I reckon Ashley is just waiting to use that as an excuse to get rid”
Judging by the response Bruce’s comments have drawn from these Newcastle supporters, it’s clear that the Toon manager’s attempt to defend himself has gone down like a lead balloon.
