Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report regarding the transfer of Matt Ritchie for Bournemouth midfielder, Phillip Billing.

According to Alan Nixon’s report for The Sun, Newcastle are ‘ready’ to send Ritchie, who joined the Magpies from Bournemouth in a £10.8 million deal back in 2016, back to the South Coast side this month, with the Cherries’ Philip Billing being mentioned as a possible makeweight in a swap deal.

Starting with an easy one, how much did Joelinton cost Newcastle when he swapped Hoffenheim for Tyneside?

So far this season, Ritchie has started just six Premier League games for Steve Bruce’s side, while the £7.2 million-rated Billing was left out of the Bournemouth’s midweek squad for the 1-0 loss to Derby County because of an alleged injury, although, the 24-year-old posted on social media: “Didn’t know I was injured.”

And, after news of the potential swap deal was relayed on Twitter by NUFC 360, fans of Newcastle flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing delighted at the idea of the transfer.
