Newcastle United fell to yet another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday evening, as they were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa.
Goals from Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore proved to be enough to see Dean Smith’s side pick up three points at Villa Park in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The defeat for Newcastle means that they’re sat 16th in the Premier League table, and are just seven points clear of the relegation zone after 19 matches in this year’s campaign.
One player that didn’t feature in the matchday squad for Steve Bruce’s side was DeAndre Yedlin, with Sky Sports’ Keith Downie revealing that the defender’s work permit hadn’t arrived in time for the match against Villa, after his previous one had expired.
Understand DeAndre Yedlin’s recent work permit hasn’t arrived and his previous one has expired. That’s why the American wasn’t involved tonight. Steve Bruce confirmed the player had a visa issue after tonight’s match #NUFC

Yedlin has struggled for consistent game time with Newcastle this season, and has made ten appearances in total for the Magpies, as they continue to struggle in the top-flight this term.
Plenty of Newcastle United supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on this update on Yedlin, with a number of fans not best pleased.
