A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to their live blog with a story on Jesse Lingard.
The Guardian (via The Chronicle) claims that the Toon are interested in taking Lingard on loan.
This has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans who are fuming and do not want to see the 28-year-old on Tyneside.
“Poundland Saint-Maximin only produces on twitter these days.”
“Going down the same route when he was the manager of the mackems …………… signing Man U dead wood”
“Oh god NO”
Would you be happy if Newcastle signed Lingard?
No, he is dreadful
Yes, could be a good addition
This season Lingard has appeared for 99 minutes in all competitions, and last season in 22 Premier League appearances, he scored one goal.
So, not exactly a stellar record, and we can understand why these Toon fans do not want him at their club.
“Happier with Murphy than him”
“PLEASE NO”
“I think genuinely this would be brilliant or horrendous. Everyone knows what’s he’s capable of just needs game time.”
The former England international was in good form in both the 2017/18 season and the 2018/19 season, when he made 14 and seven direct goal contributions in the league, but since then, it has been downhill for Lingard.
A move to the Toon could reignite his career, but it is clear that these Newcastle fans are not interested in their club signing Lingard.
