A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Keith Downie, which confirms that Allan Saint-Maximin is back for the Toon’s game against Aston Villa.
The Frenchman has not played for Newcastle since November in a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, but Steve Bruce confirmed in his press conference that the 23-year-old was back and would be in the squad for Newcastle’s trip to Villa Park.
This has clearly delighted a lot of Toon fans, who are buzzing with this news.
“Massive boost. Get in there you beauty!! Bet maxi can’t wait to have the ball fizzed into him on the edge of his own box and then left to do the rest himself.”
“Keith you beautiful human”
“Yesssss”
Are you happy with this?
Yes, he is going to make a huge difference
No, he is going to get injured again
Saint-Maximin suffered an injury in November before he then had to self-isolate, and has been out ever since, as Newcastle suffered a viral outbreak at their training ground last year.
During the games that he has missed in the league, Newcastle have won only two and lost five, so his return could help them end this poor run of form they are on.
This post continued to draw in excited Toon fans.
“Our season relies on this bloke, no pressure lad”
“Great news but 1 man don’t make a team”
“KEITHHHHJJHHHH”
Despite not playing that much this season Saint-Maximin is rated as Newcastle’s second-best player in the league with a 6.94/10 rating (as per WhoScored), and we will be intrigued to see how much game time he gets against Villa.
