Mark Douglas has been speaking on the latest edition of the Everything is Black & White podcast about all things relating to Newcastle United.

1 of 8

Starting with an easy one, how much did Joelinton cost Newcastle when he swapped Hoffenheim for Tyneside?

One of the topics that came up was transfers with the club seven points above the relegation zone, and in poor form, the need for some new signings could become important, and The Chronicle reporter revealed that he thinks the club might make some moves towards the end of the transfer window.

He said: (39:24) “This time next week it will be getting towards the end of the window.

“I think there will be some movement in the last week of the window; there’s certainly the chance. But, I mean how many players have moved this month so far? Not many, it’s been extremely quiet.

“I think it’s probably going to continue to be quiet at least until the last week of the window.”

Do you think Newcastle will be active in the transfer market?

TIF Thoughts on Newcastle’s potential transfer business…

The Toon are in dreadful form, and you would think there might be a bit more urgency to stop the rot considering the club are backing Steve Bruce for now. Though, the fact that Douglas thinks there will be some movement in the last week of the window is certainly a promising sign as it’s evident that improvements are required on the field, with the Magpies having failed to win in their last eight matches in all competitions.

So, if they are backing him, we think they should perhaps invest in the squad to ensure that Newcastle are not dragged into a relegation battle.

However, we will have to see if Douglas’ prediction on the Toon’s potential transfer business comes true later in the month.
