The article contained comments made by Toon manager Steve Bruce, who revealed that the club are trying to tie Clark down with a new deal to keep him at St. James’ Park, with Bruce saying that “discussions are ongoing” with Clark’s agent on the matter.

Newcastle signed the defender back in August 2016 from fellow Premier League club Aston Villa for a fee of £5.4 million.
